Give thanks in all circumstances, says the book of Good News
(I Thessalonians 5:18). Giving thanks is considered worship unto God and a form of high praise. Psalm 149:6: Let the high praises of God be in their mouths, and a two-edged sword in their hands (NASB). Through high praise one gives honor to the Lord. Thankfulness is looking through the lens of the Lord and discerning God's truth. Thankfulness helps one to see the goodness of God in others, and oneself.
Creation is made for thanksgiving, praise, glory, and honor unto Him. For He has:
forgiven (Psalm 103:3)
given life (2 Corinthians 5:17)
saved (Ephesians 2:8)
healed (Psalm 103:3)
provided (Philippians 4:19)
protected ( Psalm 91)
loved (John 3:16)
redeemed ( Galatians 3:13)
He is the Lord of everything. Thankfulness opens our hearts to the perfect will of God and it is a powerful way to experience the joy of the Lord no matter the circumstance. Giving thanks surrounds one with the goodness of the Lord. Look to Him with a thankful heart, He hears and He draws near. The Lord God will never disappoints. God is love, He cares, and is a good Father. He deserves the highest praise. Give, thanks!
